All Creation Praise the LORD

April 28, 2026 By Alf Cengia

May all Creation Praise the LORD! Psalm 148, Psalm 96 and Psalm 98 all have motifs where creation praises God.

May all Creation Praise the LORD! Psalm 148, Psalm 96 and Psalm 98 all have motifs where creation praises God. Most interestingly to me, the Apostle Paul writes that all creation groans and eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God.

For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly; but because of Him who subjected it in hope, because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Romans 8:19-22

Later on we read in Revelation,

Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” Rev 21:5

Psalm 148

Praise the Lord!

Praise the Lord from the heavens;
praise him in the heights!
Praise him, all his angels;
praise him, all his hosts!

Praise him, sun and moon,
praise him, all you shining stars!
Praise him, you highest heavens,
and you waters above the heavens!

Let them praise the name of the Lord!
For he commanded and they were created.
And he established them forever and ever;
he gave a decree, and it shall not pass away.

Praise the Lord from the earth,
you great sea creatures and all deeps,
fire and hail, snow and mist,
stormy wind fulfilling his word!

Mountains and all hills,
fruit trees and all cedars!
Beasts and all livestock,
creeping things and flying birds!

Kings of the earth and all peoples,
princes and all rulers of the earth!
Young men and maidens together,
old men and children!

Let them praise the name of the Lord,
for his name alone is exalted;
his majesty is above earth and heaven.
He has raised up a horn for his people,
praise for all his saints,
for the people of Israel who are near to him.

Praise the Lord!

Gaia and Earth Day

According to Google,

“Gaia, the ancient Greek goddess representing the Earth’s bounty and Mother of all life, is profoundly connected to Earth Day (April 22) as a symbol for honoring and healing the planet. Celebrating Gaia involves recognizing Earth as a living, sacred entity and taking action through environmental stewardship, such as cleaning up local spaces or offering gratitude for nature.”

But it is better to offer gratitude to the ONE who created and sustains all things (John 1:1-2; Col 1:16; Heb 1:1-3). Admire the work of the Creator yet praise Him only, as Creation in the Psalms does.

…that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Phil 2:10-11

Maranatha!
