The US has rejected Israel’s demand to force Iran to recognize Israel as part of its nuclear deal. The State Department insisted that Iran’s recognition of Israel was not part of the terms of the agreement. They are correct. However, by making this demand Israel has exposed the dangers of negotiating with a regime which has threatened Israel’s annihilation.
The Times of Israel cites Netanyahu:
“They would not shut down a single nuclear facility in Iran, would not destroy a single centrifuge in Iran and will not stop research and development on Iran’s advanced centrifuges,” he said. “On the contrary. The deal would legitimize Iran’s illegal nuclear program. It would leave Iran with a vast nuclear infrastructure. A vast nuclear infrastructure remains in place.”…keep reading
Not only has Iran threatened to destroy Israel; it has also empowered Syria, Hezbollah and Hamas, and its influence is reaching into Iraq and Yemen. The Obama Administration has had a dangerous history of giving the Iranian regime the benefit of the doubt, as it has done with Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood. It seems that President Obama is willing to risk Israel’s security for his own legacy. What will that legacy end up revealing about his administration?
