Palestinian Christian Anti-Zionists

August 4, 2026 By Alf Cengia

There are a number of Palestinian Christian anti-Zionists. These people regularly engage in tearing down Israel and in doing so, inflame antisemitism.

There are a number of Palestinian Christian anti-Zionists. These people regularly engage in tearing down Israel and in doing so, inflame antisemitism. We’ve noted before how throw away catch phrases such as “Gaza Genocide” create an erroneous image of Israel (and consequently) the Jews).

Straightening Crooked Records

I’ve been writing about Israel for the past 18 years, beginning with an invitation to submit a weekly Israel brief for Jack Kinsella’s now defunct Omega Letter. My articles weren’t very good (they still aren’t), and I praise God that He has raised up numerous ministries that set the records straight about Israel, and do far better work than I could ever aspire to.

And speaking of setting records straight: sober Christian Zionists do not worship Israel. Nor ought we to cover any mistakes it makes, just as we shouldn’t paint over evils done by any nation. Our interest and love for Israel stems from understanding what God says about it. Ironically, Palestinian Christian Naim Ateek (who has referred himself as a Peacemaker) has problems with the Old Testament passages regarding Israel and the “OT God”. See HERE and HERE.

Unfortunately, professing Christians and secular people often lie about Israel. See CAMERA’s website for corrections. When I first began paying closer attention (18 years ago) I noticed an antisemitic element in a certain “progressive” churches and individuals. But I watched it steadily creep into more mainstream churches. I see it all the time on social media.

These individuals will assert that their anti-Zionism has nothing to do with antisemitism. Sorry, I have a cheap bridge for sale that will make you lots of money – don’t buy it! You people obsess over Israel yet ignore the constant atrocities committed against Christians in Nigeria, Iran and other parts of the world. Moreover, you ignore the historic barrage of rockets fired into Israel by Hamas over the years, and the atrocities of October 7!

“From the River to the Sea!” What does that mean? Time for a deeper introspection.

Sheree Trotter

In the first of an article series (Part One linked below), Dr. Sheree Trotter writes about two of these, Yousef Kamal Alkhouri and Dr. Lamma Mansour and corrects a number false accusations. Sheree Trotter is the wife of Perry Trotter. Perry wrote the book, Israel in the Biblical Worldview and created the Learning About Evangelical Zionism documentary.

In Part One, Dr. Trotter notes,

Two Palestinian academics, Dr Lamma Mansour and Dr Yousef Kamal AlKhoury are currently touring New Zealand for a series of talks, held mostly in Anglican churches, but also in at least one university. They have been presenting one-sided, heavily truncated accounts of the complex Israel-Palestinian conflict. While we acknowledge their right to tell their story, we believe the lack of context and historical depth presents a false, distorted and harmful picture. This is the first in a series of articles that will address these concerns…keep reading

As the next articles become available, we will link to them. In the interim, Sheree has a shorter article summarizing how Palestinian Academics inflame the issue. Read it HERE.

Lamma Mansour (mentioned above) has stated that: “hope gives us the power to defy the arrogance of oppression and to persist. It renews our strength to love our enemy and to keep protesting, and hope gives us the power to imagine.”

You don’t love your enemy by lying about them. And you must correctly identify the origin of the oppression if you aspire to attain peace. Otherwise all you are really doing is assisting the spread of antisemitism.

Scripture

For Zion’s sake I will not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burns. The Gentiles shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory. You shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD will name. Isaiah 62:1-2
