Update on Saeed:
Today Saeed’s father was able to visit Saeed (behind a glass window). Prison visits are always difficult. It is painful for Saeed’s father to walk into that dark prison and to see his son chained and harassed by guards. Saeed is not intimidated. As the pressures increase, he clings more to Jesus and has become a great witness in prison. He has seen some of your message and words of encouragement and says that many times he holds on to those messages and words of encouragement and meditates on them until the next visit. It is like carrying pieces of light and hope with him back to the prison. You all have really encouraged him. Thank you.
It has been quite frustrating seeing a framework agreement reached without the freedom of Saeed and other Americans being secured. Iran has been given a great opportunity to show good faith by releasing the Americans that it is holding hostage, yet not only do they continue to hold Saeed and the other Americans hostage, but they have increased the pressures.
The ups and downs and the good news and the bad news have only helped Saeed and I to learn to keep our eyes on Jesus and not to be shaken. Thank you for all of your prayers and support. Although I am not able to respond to all of them, I do read them and pass your messages to Saeed.
Love you all!
